
Edwina J. Zales, beloved wife, sister, and aunt, passed away on Saturday, January 25th at her home on Lake Martin, in Dadeville, AL.
Edwina attended Woodlawn High School and Samford University. She began her career with CARS/ DYATRON and retired from SUNGARD in 2004 as Vice President of Human Resources. She was fondly remembered by her peers and colleagues for her class, compassion, and professionalism. Edwina’s quick smile and contagious laugh always brought a sense of calm and ease.
Edwina was predeceased by her parents, Roy W. Johnson and Hattie V. Johnson, a brother, Charles Johnson, and two sisters, Dorothy Mizerany and Merle Taylor.
She is survived by her loving husband, William (Bill) Zales, sister Doris Gustin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edwina deeply loved her husband Bill, her golden retrievers Kacy and Kelly, and her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 29th at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124 from 10:00 to 10:45. followed by a prayer service. A private graveside service will follow.
